Library Schedules (June 18-24)

Westminster library branch

The Westminster branch of the Carroll County Public Library, 50 E. Main St., Westminster, will offer the following programs this week. Registration is required only where noted. For more information, call 410-386-4488.

Tuesday

Story Pals - Beach: 10 a.m. For ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays, and activities. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Read and Play: 11 a.m. For ages Birth-24 Months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. With an accompanying adult caregiver.

Evening Story Time - Beach: 7 p.m. For All Ages. End your day in a special way. This story time, open to all ages, introduces stories through books, songs, and activities. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Songs at 6:30 Concert Series - The Weber Brothers: 6:30 p.m. For All Ages. Join us for this free evening concert series featuring local and regional musicians. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy some terrific music. Sponsored by The City of Westminster, Downtown Westminster Main Street Program, and Coffey Music. Rain location: lower level of Longwell Parking Garage. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Friday

Summer Fun Day: 1 p.m. For All Ages. Join us from 1-3 pm for an afternoon of crafts and summer fun to kick off our Summer Reading Program, Dig Into Reading. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Saturday

Crazy for Camping: 10 a.m. For ages 3-11. Register for this event today. Welcome to Camp Corky at the Westminster Branch Library. Join us for camping games, stories, and crafts as we set up our tents in the library park (weather-permitting) and enjoy the great outdoors. Children age 3 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Only kids need to register.

The Thrilling Tale of Peter Rabbit: 9:45 and 11 a.m. For ages 3-Adults. Register for this event today. Can you name Peter Rabbit's sisters? Come meet Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail, and Peter in this rollicking puppet show that brings "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" to life like never before. You'll really dig Peter Rabbit in his thrilling escapade through Mr. McGregor's vegetable garden. Parents, enjoy retelling the story with your children using the parent activity handout. ABC Mystery: 10, 10:45 and 11:30 a.m. For ages 2-10. Register for this event today. The Maryland Zoomobile is making a stop at the Finksburg Branch. Alligator starts with an A. Newt starts with a N. What letter does Elephant start with? Learn about animals while practicing the ABC's in this fun, interactive program. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Only kids need to register.

The Magic of Roger Lindsay: 9:45 and 11 a.m. For ages 4-Adults. Register for this event today. Summer Reading ambassador Roger Lindsay transports kids 4 to 104 to a realm of magical happenings, illusions, and laughter. Join Prop, the Magic Bunny, as he and Mr. Lindsay amaze and amuse in this show loaded with audience participation. You never know what surprises await you. All attendees need to register. This program is sponsored in part by a Community Arts Development Grant from the Carroll County Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council. Summer Sidewalk Spectacular: 10 a.m. For All Ages. Add your own creative touch to the Finksburg Branch. Join us Mondays this summer to give our walkways some fun flair. Program is weather permitting. Milkshake in Concert: 11 a.m. For All Ages. Register for this event today.Performing live at the library will be a duo from the Grammy-nominated, Baltimore based children's rock band, Milkshake. LEGO® Creations: 2 p.m. For ages 5-Adults. Want to build a castle? Or a spaceship? Or something totally new and different? Join us for a LEGO® program where you can build whatever you would like. We supply the blocks and you supply the creativity. Bring your dad or your mom and build together.
