Jewish War Veterans Maryland Free State Post 167, Roger C. Snyder Memorial Post 117, and Paul D. Savanuck Post 888 and its ladies auxiliary hosted for its members, a fun and enjoyable Hanukkah party, in the spacious and patriotic banquet room of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 521, in Owings Mills.
An added bonus was top-notch, award-winning entertainer, Jay Wachter, a fantastic multitalented banjo player, singer, humorist. His very enjoyable program included anecdotes, musical tidbits about his musical selections, plus stories and interesting historical trivia.
Jay, a very personable entertainer has performed professionally for more than 30 years! His 25 entertainment tours included Europe, London, Vienna, Amsterdam and Oslo, Norway, with his excellent, lively and interesting program of vintage American songs and music.
Jay has entertained at embassy events in Washington before diplomats, and royalty, in the U.S. Senate, House of Representatives, and the White House. Also the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. This columnist can vouch that he is phenomenally entertaining!
Everyone attending this fun Jewish War Veterans Hanukkah bash brought a Hanukkah or Christmas gift for a child that is a patient in Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, to be distributed during the holidays.
On behalf of Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, accepting this great assortment of lovely holiday gifts were Tom Paullin, vice president development and external affairs and Brigid Kernan, director of development.
Note, Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, located off Rogers Ave., in northwest Baltimore, this year is celebrating it's 90th anniversary. The hospital cares for infants, children and teenagers, helping these patients in time, become productive members of our society.
