Big Premiere
'Transformers: Age of Extinction'
The word: By now, audiences should know if they're going to enjoy "Transformers: Age of Extinction" without seeing a frame of footage. The format of the new film looks to be identical to its three predecessors. Mix one part vehicular-on-vehicular homicide, two-parts military propaganda, add a beautiful model-turned-actress and shake all of the parts until they fall off the screen. Two things distinguish "Trans4mers" from the previous trilogy: the inclusion of Mark Wahlberg, who has been on a charisma streak lately, and the presence of the Dinobots, robot-dinosaurs that pal around with the Transformers.
Details: "Transformers: Age of Extinction" premieres Friday in theaters nationwide, including Regal Westminster 9. For showtime information, call 410-857-1422.
Dropping
Robin Thicke
'Paula'
The word: Following last summer's hit "Blurred Lines," Robin Thicke is hoping to own the airwaves again with his latest album "Paula." The album features Thicke's latest single "Get Her Back." Despite his recent rise to success with "Blurred Lines" and a memorable performance with Miley Cyrus at the MTV Video Music Awards last year, Thicke has been producing albums for more than a decade, and looks to continue his longevity.
Details: The album will be available Tuesday for $11.88 on Amazon and $7.99 on iTunes.
Couch Potato
'Reckless'
Series Premiere
The word: Catherine Hardwicke who directed "Thirteen" and the first "Twilight" film directed the pilot to this Southern-crime drama. The show follows the steamy on-again off-again romance between two attorneys, as they battle in the courtroom and slowly unravel a city-wide sex scandal. The show seems to bring back soapy entertainment to primetime.
Details: "Reckless" premieres 9 p.m. Sunday on CBS.
