Baltimore Ravens free-agent left tackle Bryant McKinnie tweeted Wednesday that his agent spoke to Baltimore general manager Ozzie Newsome "the other day" and that there's still a chance he returns to Baltimore.
"We still have a chance 2 get something done. Be patient," McKinnie tweeted.
McKinnie has significant off-the-field baggage - and he's had issues with both his weight and conditioning in the past - but he's a player who excelled in the playoffs and whose play was key in Baltimore's offensive success during its run to a Super Bowl title.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said in March that Baltimore is "very open" to the possibility of retaining McKinnie, who's garnered only minimal interest as a free agent.
If McKinnie isn't retained, the Ravens would likely move Michael Oher back to left tackle, a position he's had problems at in the past.
