Library Schedules (Nov. 6-12)

The Eldersburg branch of the Carroll County Public Library, 6400 W. Hemlock Drive, will offer the following programs this week. Registration is required only where noted. For more information, call 410-386-4488.

Wednesday
Story Pals - Food: 9:45 a.m. For ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays, and activities. With an accompanying adult caregiver.
Story Pals - Food: 10:45 a.m. For ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays, and activities. With an accompanying adult caregiver.
Teen Volunteer Time: 7 p.m. For ages 12-17. Need service hours? Help the library. We are looking for young adults who would like to earn service hours. Help the library prepare crafts for story time, pull library materials from the shelves, and do other special projects. Come and earn service hours, it's just that easy.

Thursday
Read and Play: 9:45 a.m. For ages Birth-24 Months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. With an accompanying adult caregiver.
Story Pals - Food: 10:45 a.m. For ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays, and activities. With an accompanying adult caregiver.
Service Learning Hours - KidWorks: 5:30 p.m. For ages 12-17. KidWorks meets twice a month. At the 1st meeting we spend an hour planning a story time for younger kids. At the 2nd meeting (11/21/2013 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.) we present the story time. You must come to both meetings to earn 3 service learning hours.
Paper Football Smackdown: 6 p.m. For ages 7-14. Are you ready for some football? Join us for a paper football smackdown. Wear your favorite football jersey and either bring a paper football or make one when you get here. Compete to see who makes it to the Super Bowl and who will be crowned paper football champion. Refreshments will be served.

Friday
Little Hands Signing - Zoo Signs: 9:45 a.m. For ages Birth-24 Months. Experience the magic of American Sign Language through age-appropriate stories, songs, activities, and games, along with tips and tricks for caregivers on using signs in everyday activities. Presenter Kathy MacMillan is a certified member of the Sign2Me® Presenters' Network. With an accompanying adult caregiver. Siblings welcome.
Read and Play at Fairhaven: 10 a.m. For ages Birth-24 Months. Register for this event today. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. This session is held at Fairhaven Assisted Living Center in Sykesville. The elderly residents will join us for the program and visiting afterwards. With an adult caregiver. Only kids need to register.

Veteran's Day - Stories of Those Who Have Served Our Country: 1 p.m. For All Ages. Join us as the men and women of the American Legion Post 223 share their stories of service to our country. Refreshments will be served. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. A Celebrating America program.
Free Spirit Book Club - The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant: 2 p.m. For Adults. Please join us for a discussion about our chosen book.

Sunday
Carroll County String Project Trio-Fall Fest Classical Style: 2 p.m. For All Ages. Please join Bagus Wiswakarma, violin; Maxim Kozlov, cello; and Kathryn Harsha, piano as they celebrate fall with a Sunday afternoon of music. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
