Library Schedules (May 8-14)

Westminster library branch

The Westminster branch of the Carroll County Public Library, 50 E. Main St., Westminster, will offer the following programs this week. Registration is required only where noted. For more information, call 410-386-4488.

Tuesday

Evening Story Time: 7 p.m. All ages. This story time introduces stories through books, songs, and activities. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Read and Play: 11 a.m. Ages birth-24 months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. Siblings welcome. With an accompanying caregiver.

Story Pals: 10 a.m. Ages 2-3. A theme-based story time featuring interactive and age-appropriate stories, songs, finger plays and activities. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Read and Play: 11 a.m. Ages birth-24 months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. Siblings welcome. With an accompanying caregiver.

Friday

May Is Get Caught Reading Month: 10 a.m. All ages. Get caught reading at the library! Join us for stories, songs, and a craft to celebrate this special month. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Saturday

Swing Music and Dance: 10 a.m. All ages. Kick off the Westminster Flower & Jazz Festival with the Herb Sell Ensemble, Tina & Mike Foley, and the Head Over Heels Dance Troupe. Please join us for a lively celebration of swing music and dance in the Mary Lou Dewey Sculpture Park along Main Street. Children 3 and under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. This program is sponsored in part by a Community Arts Development grant from the Carroll County Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council.

Monday

Un-Extreme Couponing: 7 p.m. Adults. Have you watched TLC's Extreme Couponing and thought I wish I could save on my grocery bill, but who has 60 hours to spend couponing? We can help. Learn how to get more and spend less when you shop.

Saturday

Cupcake Bouquet: 1 p.m. Ages 11-17. April showers bring May cupcakes? Come learn how to decorate a garden full of delicious cupcake flowers. No experience required. Refreshments will be served. Registration for this program began 4/28/2012.

Monday

Alphabet Train: 11 a.m. Ages 3-6. Climb aboard each week to explore a different letter of the alphabet through books, songs, and activities. All adult caregivers are welcome. Children 3 and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
