Flacco furthers expresses distaste for Wildcat formation

OWINGS MILLS - Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco expressed his displeasure over Baltimore's use of the Wildcat formation on Sunday. He further expressed his distaste for the Wildcat on Tuesday.
Baltimore ran the Wildcat several times against the New York Jets on Sunday with Taylor lining up as the Wildcat quarterback. On those plays, Flacco lined up at wide receiver.
Flacco said after the game, "It's good and fun for a little bit, but that's it. I don't want to be lining up at [wide receiver]. I want to line up behind center."
"I would say [the comments were] probably not taken too much out of context," Flacco said Tuesday. "It is what it is. Yeah, I don't like that stuff. I think it makes you look like a high school offense. That's just my opinion."
He later added: "I want as many chances as I can get behind the line of scrimmage. I just don't like that stuff in general. Me and Tyrod talk about it. It's just interesting to me.
"I'm all for us doing things to get better, but we're not going to be good if we just can't get good at the basics of what we do 90 percent of the time."
Flacco said the coaching staff knows how he feels about the Wildcat and that he doesn't think it will be used again going forward, but other players do like the formation, and Taylor did produce a 17-yard run out of the Wildcat on Sunday.
"As long as it doesn't take away from what we do well ... I like it, especially when you've got a guy like Tyrod like we've got," tight end Ed Dickson said. "We've got to get him the ball. We have got two great quarterbacks. And the things that Tyrod does well and the things that Joe does well, we can use them both.
"So we practiced [the Wildcat] a lot in this past offseason ... and I'm all for [running it]."
