Items for kids to be featured at annual consignment sale

Carroll Lutheran School will have its 11th Annual Kid's Consignment Sale Feb. 9 at the Carroll County Agriculture Center's Shipley Arena.

"It's your one-stop shop for all things kids. We have had strollers, bikes, pack 'n' plays, maternity clothes, costumes, coats, shoes, athletic shoes, sporting equipment, tons of toys, all kinds of infant needs, bumpers, bouncy seats, baby's room accessories, decor and so much more," said Amy Louque, event co-chairwoman.

The sale will run from 7 a.m. until noon. At 3 p.m. doors will reopen and all items will be half-price until 5 p.m.

"This is the school's biggest fundraiser, and the money raised is used to help purchase items for the school. Times change so quickly, and we like to keep updating our technology. Last year we purchased a document camera for each teacher," Louque said.

"All donated and unsold items are given to an organization started by Mr. Lou Stouffer. ... For more than 40 years, Mr. Stouffer and his volunteers have traveled thousands of miles a year delivering items to families in need in western Maryland and western West Virginia," said Louque.

Carroll Lutheran School, near Frizzellburg, is a private Christian school serving students of all faiths in kindergarten through eighth grade.

"I just love it there. It's just the best place. Kids learn in such a loving, caring environment," said June Leppo, consignment sale co-chairwoman. "There are small class sizes, individualized education, and the staff strives to meet each child."
