Weldon "Pappy" Poole Sr., 90, of Glen Burnie, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 7, 1922, in Baltimore.

He graduated from Westminster High School in 1941. He was the owner and operator of Poole Trucking Company and later worked as a driver and dispatcher for Shipley's Transfer.

After retirement he continued to work at Budget/Avis Rental Car at BWI. He was a 23-year member of the Glen Burnie Elks No. 2266 and the Glen Burnie Moose. In his spare time he enjoyed dancing, eating out, having family cookouts, socializing with family and friends, fishing and crabbing.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, 1 2nd Avenue S.W., Glen Burnie.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
