Carroll Christian volleyball wins New Life Tournament

Getting strong performances from the duo of Jane Underman and Kristen Douglas, the Carroll Christian volleyball squad won all five matches on the way to winning the New Life Tournament on Saturday.

The Patriots cruised through pool play, dropping John Carroll (25-20, 25-22), New Life (25-14, 25-13) and Maryland School for the Deaf (25-20, 25-18.

Once in bracket play, the Pats ran into some troubles for the first time, dropping the first set 23-25 to Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy, but they quickly right themselves and reeled off 25-13 and 26-24 wins to take the match.

Waiting in the championship match was Covenant Life and Carroll Christian dispatched of the 25-19 and 25-23 to win the tournament. Underman registered 33 kills and Douglas was close behind with 25. Hannah Frazier contributed with 58 assists.
