Read and Play: 9:30 a.m. For ages birth-24 months. A story time featuring lap games, tickles, bounces, and rhymes followed by a playgroup for meeting and mingling. With an accompanying adult caregiver.
On My Own-Feelings: 10:30 a.m. For ages 3-6. A theme-based story time for children who are ready for an independent, small group experience. All adult caregivers are welcome.
Only the Shadow Shows: 7:30 p.m. For ages 10-adults. Have you ever wanted to make the moon or sun disappear, if only briefly? Have you ever wondered why people thought the earth was flat even though its shadow was curved? Skip Bird, Observatory Director of the Westminster Astronomical Society and Carroll County's resident mad scientist, will talk to us about these and other ideas related to a lunar eclipse. You'll get to make your very own eclipse, while also learning why lunar eclipses don't happen more frequently. Skip will be bringing time machines, provided by the Westminster Astronomical Society, to observe the sun/stars, weather permitting.
