Students awarded scholarships

Del. Susan Krebs has awarded state scholarships to graduating high school seniors in her legislative district. Money for the scholarships comes from the Delegate Scholarship Program, created by the General Assembly in 1957 for students who plan to attend colleges, universities, or career schools in Maryland.

The Education Subcommittee of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce evaluated the students based upon the following criteria: leadership, community service, extracurricular activities, academic achievement and work ethic.

Graduating seniors from Century High School receiving scholarships from Delegate Krebs are as follows: Madison Born, Luke Cook, Adam Ellerbrock, Samuel Engler, Joseph Fallon, Stephen Grapes, Hunter Haines, John Panagiotopoulos, Nathan Shinholt, Lauren Siminski, and Hana Vienneau.

Delegate Krebs awarded scholarships to the following graduating seniors from Liberty High School: Nathan Coleman, Deanna Faid, Erik Hasselbarth, Mustapha Jawara, Caitlin Kerr, Grant Kilduff, Haley Lupfer, Matthew Peiffer, Joseph Skura, Andrew Van Der Stuyf, and Brennan Werner.

Delegate Krebs also awarded scholarships to the following graduating seniors at Westminster High School: Aaron Carback, Brittany Childs, and Leanne Rund. Additional scholarship winners were Rachel Kurtz, of McDonough; Patrick McQuay, of Calvert Hall; and Kenneth Landy, of South Carroll.
