Alberto Del Rio, who has been sidelined since the beginning of the year with a groin injury, and Rey Mysterio, who was written off television the night after SummerSlam, are both rumored to make their on-screen returns tonight on WWE Raw from Rey's hometown of San Diego.
Del Rio returned at Sunday's Smackdown house show, where he participated in an angle with Sheamus. Originally announced as a challenge match between the last two Rumble winners, Del Rio and Sheamus instead participated in an arm wrestling contest because Del Rio wasn't cleared to wrestle. So his return to WWE TV, even if only a promo, would make sense tonight. It seems unlikely he'll be wrestling either tonight or at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view on Sunday.
Mysterio would be a bit more of a surprise. He has been recovering from a torn ACL he suffered over the summer. Coincidentally -- or perhaps not -- his last match was on Raw from San Diego the night after SummerSlam, when Del Rio defeated him in his first WWE title defense. They did a post match angle where Del Rio continued to attack Mysterio, writing him off TV because of his injuries.
The Master of the 619 has been targeting a WrestleMania return. I imagine if he is ready to go, he'd be facing Del Rio to wrap up their feud, barring Sin Cara's return (unlikely). An apperance tonight could simply be to set that up.
