Its the stuff of which movies are made:
Brother vs. brother competition, a dad who's been a lifelong coach, a final game for one of the biggest stars and all set in the unique, glamorous, beautiful New Orleans.
If you don't know I'm talking about the Super Bowl, then you've dwelt in a cave for the last month or so.
The team, after a big Harborplace pep rally, and hundreds of others who have spent bundles on tickets and hotels, are already on site and raring to go.
For the team - practice, practice and press conferences with barrages of repeated questions.
For Ravens' fans, until game time, they will sample the variety of attractions that New Orleans offers.
What about us home folks who aren't on site?
We're draped in purple with lights, jerseys, hats, banners, flags, bobble-heads and all the rest that have become big business during the Raven's fabulous season.
Even cupcakes, sent in by moms for their children's elementary school birthday celebrations, are iced in purple this week.
At least at one school, home-baked goodies are a no-no. The reason? Store-bought cupcakes have no possible allergy-inducing ingredients.
In various communities when outdoor Christmas lights came down, purple lights went up.
One wearer of purple lights, which you wrap around your neck with a hook-up in your pocket, was hailed by a driver who stopped, then asked, "Where did you get those lights?"
Her reply, "I bought them on the Internet." The driver called out thanks, then headed home to make a purchase.
Of course, Joe Flacco and other Ravens biggies, could see their names on folks from six to sixty and from size eight to "Big Man" plus.
Winter doldrums?
Dreary days?
Lucky us, not around Baltimore.
We have Super bowl Mania!
