It is nice to see that just because the holidays are over, groups are still reaching out to those in need. From Ebb Valley Elementary School's Empty Bowls Fundraiser to St. Joseph Catholic Community's Valentine's Flower Project, it is great to see the community helping and even better yet, teaching our children to give.
While the Empty Bowls Fundraiser is to help raise money for the needy, St. Joseph's Flower Project donates cards and flower arrangements to hundreds of South Carroll's elderly. Both promote giving all while showing children there are fun and creative ways to donate.
Ebb Valley students created clay bowls that would be filled with soup during a fundraiser at the school and children at St. Joseph's help create Valentine's Day cards and flower arrangements and deliver them door-to-door.
Different fundraisers happen around Carroll all year long, whether they are to help a sick resident with medical bills or to raise money for an entire organization, but it is always nice when children get to see firsthand how donating can change lives.
