Ravens: Marshal Yanda restructures $32 million deal

OWINGS MILLS -- The Baltimore Ravens have restructured Pro Bowl offensive guard Marshal Yanda's five-year, $32 million contract, reducing his salary-cap figure for this year by $2.8 million.

That helped the Ravens to strike a two-year, $7 million contract for wide receiver/kick returner Jacoby Jones, a three-year contract extension for strong safety Bernard Pollard and a one-year, $1.214 million deal for defensive lineman Ryan McBean.

Following the Yanda restructure and the deal for McBean and not including the contracts for Jones and Pollard, the Ravens' new salary-cap figure is $3.529 million. Suspended for the first three games of the season for violating the NFL performance-enhancing drug policy, McBean will lose three game checks and is due to make $1 million this fall.

A gritty blocker regarded as the Ravens' top offensive lineman, Yanda was originally due a cap figure of $6.5 million for 2012. It's now down to $3.65 million.

Yanda's base salary of $4.5 million dropped to the veteran minimum of $700,000, but he didn't lose any money.

The Ravens gave Yanda a $3.8 million signing bonus, which is now prorated over the remaining four years of the deal.

Yanda's remaining base salaries: 2013 ($4.5 million), 2014 ($5.5 million) and 2015 ($5.5 million).

And his salary-cap figures are now up to: 2013 ($7.45 million), 2014 ($8.45 million) and 2015 ($8.45 million).
