A Union Bridge woman was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Cheyenne Wind Foster, 24, of East Elgar Street was charged with one count of second-degree assault. She was released on her own recognizance as of Wednesday afternoon, according to online court records.

Foster was also charged with traffic violations, including driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to show her license to a uniformed officer on demand.

According to the statement of probable cause, Foster struck the victim in the face multiple times with both hands and pushed them in the chest. When police arrived, they noted, the victim was seen to have scratches on their chest and stomach, a small laceration at the right corner of their eyebrow and slightly bleeding, surrounded by drying blood.

Police stopped Foster after she left the residence where the crime allegedly occurred, and she admitted to the arresting officer to drinking before the altercation, according to the statement.

A court date is scheduled for Aug. 14. No attorney for Foster was listed in online court records.
