Inmate allegedly stabs fellow inmate in Sykesville correctional facility, is charged with assault

An inmate in Carroll County was charged with assault after he stabbed another inmate several times, including in the face, according to the statement of charges.

Antonine Johnson, 29, who was detained at the Central Maryland Correctional Facility in Sykesville, was charged with first- and second-degree assault, according to court records.

Johnson stabbed another inmate at the correctional facility multiple times in the face and upper torso with an unknown object, according to the statement of charges.

According to the statement, the victim said that he “had beef” with Johnson over eight years ago.

The statement of charges did not describe the condition of the victim.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Johnson was being held without bond and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 20.
