Windsor Mill couple charged in robbery, killing of New York man in Carroll County

A Windsor Mill man and woman have been charged with robbing and killing a New York man and leaving his body on the side of a road in Carroll County Saturday night, State Police said.

A witness told police he saw a man lying in the road at about 11 p.m. as two others stood nearby on Route 32 near Finksburg. When the witness approached the pair, they fled into a white vehicle and drove away, police said.

The victim, 23-year-old Luis J. Pol, had several gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Lester A. Snyder and Meghan R. Goforth, both 26, were arrested and face several murder and robbery charges. Baltimore County police found Goforth overnight in a car matching the description of the one that had been seen by witnesses near the killing.

Snyder was arrested at about 1 p.m. Sunday at his home, State Police said. Detectives served a search warrant there, but they did not find a gun, police said.

Police said Snyder and Goforth were living together and were acquaintences of Pol, who was from the Bronx but was living in Gamber with friends.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who was driving along Route 32 in the area of Nicodemus Road between 10:30 and 11 p.m. Saturday, or has any other information in the case, may call State Police at 410-386-3000 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
