The deadline for the annual Eldersburg Photo Contest, sponsored by the Carroll Eagle and Eldersburg.Net, is today, Sunday, Dec. 4. The contest is open to residents in the 21784 ZIP code and the Carroll County portion of Marriottsville. The original deadline was Nov. 27, but was extended to Dec. 4.

The contest includes a first prize of $100, second prize of $50 and third prize of $25, with addition prizes in categories of Landscapes, Still Life and Architecture, People, and Ages 13 and under. All photos submitted, regardless of categories, will be judged for Overall Best.

To enter, send color or black-and-white photos. Entries must be in digital format, and emailed to photocontest@eldersburg.net. Photos must have been taken within the past 12 months and taken in the greater Eldersburg area. There's a limit of four photo entries per person.

Also, photos submitted without contact information will not be entered in the contest. Please be sure to include the following information with your entry: Your name, address, contact phone number, a brief description of the picture and category you wish the photo to be entered in. All entries will be posted on Eldersburg.Net for family members, friends and neighbors to view and vote. With the extended deadline, voting will now begin Dec. 7 and end Dec. 14, 2011. Final determination of winners will be a blended rating of the online voters and a judging panel.

Employees of Eldersburg.Net, Advantage Internet Marketing, the Carroll Eagle and BSMG are not eligible to enter.
