Mount St. Mary's grad honored for accomplishments in science

W. Brandon White graduated from Mount St. Mary's University, summa cum laude, carrying a double major in biology and chemistry, one course shy of a third major in biochemistry.

In addition to science honors at the June commencement, White received a Presidential Medallion for academic excellence and an award from the American Chemistry Society.

White served as a teaching and residential assistant, worked in a hospital emergency room as a physician assistant and gained certification as an emergency medical technician as well as a snowboarding instructor.

He is a 2007 honors alumnus of Mount St. Joseph High School, where he served as a liaison for the student board. White also played football and baseball.

His parents are William and Shelley White, of Eldersburg, and he is the brother of Kristen White.

His grandparents are Wayne and Connie Englehart, who live in Arbutus, and the late William and Myrtle White.
