Buster Hesterman may never make it to the Westminster Kennel Club finals in New York, but last weekend at the Westminster Dog Show, all heads were turned toward the guy with "the most prominent eyes."

Buster showed up at the Westminster Library event with his handler, Wyatt Hesterman, in a drizzle of rain.

At first, the center of attention was a 5-week-old Labrador/pit bull puppy named Bella, who everyone wanted to pet (or sniff).

But once the competition got under way — and after Buster took care of some business in a nearby white Azalea bush — the focus drifted toward Buster and Wyatt.

There was a brief moment of tension as Darby Worsley, with help from her handler, Grace Worsley, executed a perfect frontal chair sit with a one-an-a-half tail wag on a metal folding chair.

And with that maneuver, the beagle/Jack Russell cross easily captured the Best Trick award. The chair sit even seemed to impress Buster.

Other winning contestants included Matt Korotki and his Bernese mountain dog, Titan, with the Biggest award; Shobika Parasakthy and Boo, the Fluffiest; and Emily Blair with her puppy, Bella, dubbed the Cutest.

Ryan Martin was also a prize winner in the Most Unusual Pet category. He showed the judges photographs of his pet worm, lizard, duck, cat and some shrimp-like Sea Monkeys.
