Man gets 10 years in prison in hit and run that killed McDaniel student

A Reisterstown man was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in prison after authorities say he fatally hit a McDaniel College student in a car crash last year.

Shawron Bibbs, 30, was driving a pickup truck that hit a car carrying five McDaniel College students Feb. 6 on West Main Street near the college campus, according to prosecutors. Thomas Rouleau, 19, of Gilboa, N.Y., died at the scene and the four other students were injured.

Bibbs plead not guilty but admitted to the statement of facts submitted by prosecutors in court. A Carroll County Circuit Court judge found Bibbs guilty of negligent manslaughter.
