The state Department of Transportation reported at 8:40 a.m. on Monday that a five-vehicle accident on Interstate 83 North has been cleared and all lanes have been reopened.
The accident, which occurred at the MD 943 (Warren Road) exit, was first reported by DOT at 6:35 a.m. and previously shut down all northbound traffic lanes.
At 8:55 a.m., the lone unscheduled road closure reported by state and local transportation departments was in Carroll County, where traffic was still slowed by closures on MD 140 East at Sullivan Road due to emergency roadwork from Dec. 6, DOT said.
As drivers navigated through slick roads from the overnight wintry mix, the State Highway Administration urged motorists to "travel with caution and remain alert for icy spots."
The Maryland Transit Authority reported minor delays on local buses, the light rail, the MARC train and mobility vehicles at 8:55 a.m.
