Jewelry created by Bel Air woman to be featured on 'The Vampire Diaries'

The jewelry of Julie Ellyn Designs (www.JulieEllynDesigns.etsy.com) of Bel Air has been chosen for use on the CW Network's popular thriller "The Vampire Diaries," designer/owner Julie Ter Borg announced. This time, Caroline Forbes, played by Candice Accola, will wear the designer's "Fancy Clover (Caroline)" earrings on Episode 5:8, airing Thursday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m.

Leigh Leverett, wardrobe designer for "The Vampire Diaries," selected the earrings for use on the show after discovering them in a Stylist Gift Bag she received earlier this year from handcrafted arts promotion organization The Artisan Group, of which Ter Borg is a member.

"I've seen my 'Caroline' earrings on blondes, brunettes and red heads, with their hair worn down or in an up-do, and they always look stylish," Ter Borg said of the simple, feminine design. "For this reason, I thought they would be a fabulous choice for the 'Vampire Diaries' beauties."

Those interested in ordering a pair of the earrings for themselves or for gifting to their favorite TVD fan, can do so at JulieEllynDesigns.etsy.com.

This is the second time a piece of Julie Ellyn Designs jewelry has been seen on "The Vampire Diaries." The designer's "Beaded Goddess Double Wrap Leather Bracelet" was worn by protagonist Elena Gilbert, played by Nina Dobrev, on Episodes 4:11 and 4:12. Ter Borg designed the wrap bracelet specifically for the show, to match the dark and sinister lighting and styling. The piece has been a strong seller ever since. Fans of "The Vampire Diaries" are "very dedicated and love to emulate their favorite character's style," remarked Ter Borg with a smile.

The designer says she enjoys creating designs that appeal to women of various ages and lifestyles. Best sellers include her gemstone and leather wrap bracelets and cuffs.

"These are comfortable, versatile pieces that speak to the stacked bracelets trend and have a definite 'wow' factor," Ter Borg said. "I also design simple sterling pieces, like those I would gravitate to as a busy working mom. My jewelry is versatile enough that it can be worn every day, as well as on special occasions; the 'Caroline' earrings are a perfect example of that."

Ter Borg grew up on a farm in rural Bel Air and began making jewelry as a hobby during graduate school. The full-time working mom of two young girls is a scientist by trade and has turned her hobby into a flourishing business.

Julie Ellyn Designs jewelry has been seen at GBK's Luxury Gift Lounges for the Primetime Emmys (2012) and the Oscars (2013). Celebrities who have been gifted Ter Borg's designs include Selena Gomez, Giada De Laurentiis, Bethenny Frankel, Trista Rehn Sutter, Alison Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried. Gemstone and leather cuffs have also been gifted to the wardrobe stylists of the hit TV shows "The Voice," "Pretty Little Liars" and HBO's "True Blood." Stephanie Drapeau of the television shows "Medium" and "Castle" has been seen out and about wearing Julie Ellyn Designs, including a pair of Julie Ellyn Designs earrings at the LA movie premiere of "Edge of Salvation."
