The Baltimore City Department of Transportation said at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday that westbound Madison Street is closed at Charles Street due to water main repairs.
Department of Public works spokesman Kurt Kocher said that a six-inch water main break on the unit block of westbound Madison Street that occurred on Wednesday evening has been repaired, and on Thursday morning crews are repairing the road.
Traffic is being detoured northbound onto Charles Street, and traffic impact is moderate, transportation officials said.
The state Department of Transportation said US 1 Alternate North in Baltimore County, just south of Tom Day Boulevard, is closed at the northbound right lane on Thursday morning due to emergency roadwork that began on Wednesday evening.
Earlier traffic incidents that caused lane closures, including accidents on the BW Parkway and MD 198, have been cleared and lanes have been reopened, DOT said.
The Maryland Transportation Authority said that the I-695 Curtis Creek Drawbridge is slated to open at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
