I-95 southbound in Harford reopens after fatal collision

A fatal three-vehicle accident shut down southbound Interstate 95 near Abingdon early Friday morning, according to the State Highway Administration.

All lanes were reopened at 8:38 a.m., according to the Maryland Transportation Authority.

A tractor trailer and pickup truck were involved, Harford County fire and EMS officials said. The accident occurred before 3 a.m. near the Clayton Road overpass and Winters Run bridge.

Two additional accidents occurred on the same highway near the fatal accident, according to the state Department of Transportation. A collision involving a motorcycle and another vehicle occurred at 7:52 a.m., and a three-car collision occurred at 8:01 a.m., said DOT spokesman Charlie Gischlar. He added that the accidents were minor and all vehicles involved have been moved to the shoulder.

In another accident in Harford, State Police Bel Air Barracks reported a crash at MD 23 south of MD 136 involving a vehicle that ran off the roadway at 6:30 a.m. A person was transported to a hospital as a result of the accident, State Police said. No additional information was given.

The Maryland Transit Administration reported minor MARC train delays at 9:13 a.m.
