Museums, cultural institutions taking a snow day

Schools and government offices aren't the only things closing down in anticipation of today's snowstorm. Here is a partial list, continually being updated, of cultural and commercial institutions shutting down for the day.

The American Visionary Art Museum is closed.


Tonight's Hesperus Cine-Concert at An Die Musik Live has been postponed.

The Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum and Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards are closed.


The Baltimore Museum of Art is closed.

The B&O; Railroad Museum is closed.

All branches of the Enoch Pratt Free Library are closed.

Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine is closed.

Geppi's Entertainment Museum is closed

Historic Ships in Baltimore, which operates the USS Constellation, USS Torsk, Lightship Chesapeake, USCG Cutter Taney and Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse, is closed.

The Irvine Nature Center in Owings Mills is closed.

The Jewish Museum of Maryland is closed. Public programs scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday have been postponed.


Horse racing at Laurel Park has been canceled.

The Maryland Historical Society is closed.

The Maryland Science Center is closed.

The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is closed.

Baltimore's National Aquarium is closed.

The National Great Blacks in Wax Museum is closed.


The Port Discovery Children's Museum is closed.

Pumpkin Theatre is closed.

The Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African-American History and Culture is closed.

The Star-Spangled Banner Flag House is closed.

The Walters Art Museum is closed.
