Southwest canceled 300 flights nationwide Saturday as engineers from Boeing and safety officials examined the Boeing 737 and the 79 like it in the company's fleet.

Airport spokesman Jonathan Dean, reached Saturday afternoon, called the flight cancelations a "relatively minor" incident for the airport. He would not provide a specific number of flights that were cancelled at the airport, and referred questions to the airline.
