Teenager shot in arm overnight in Northeast Baltimore, police say

A teenager was shot in the arm early Thursday in Northeast Baltimore, police reported.

The boy, 16, told police that he was walking in the 2900 block of Edison Highway, near the Belair Plaza Shopping Center and Elmley Avenue Park in the Belair-Edison neighborhood, when he was approached from behind by two men. One of them asked him to turn around, and when the boy turned, one of the men shot him.

Officers responded at about 2:30 a.m., and the teen was taken to an area hospital. Police had no information on suspects or a motive.
