Two arrested in Security Square Mall stabbing

Baltimore County police have arrested and charged two people in the stabbing of a 21-year-old man Monday in Woodlawn's Security Square Mall.

Andre A. Wright, a student at North American Trade School, was assaulted by two people who had attempted to rob him earlier in the day, police said. Wright, who lives in East Baltimore, was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was released Thursday.

One of the suspects, Roland Clayton, 27, of Ridgehill Avenue in West Baltimore, was arrested Wednesday. The other, Brandon Goforth, 26, of Park Heights Terrace, also in West Baltimore, was picked up Friday. They were charged with attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and robbery. Both are being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, according to police.

Police said Clayton and Goforth had tried to rob Wright earlier Monday and that when the victim encountered the pair later in the mall a fight ensued, during which Wright was stabbed. Detectives said they identified the suspects from surveillance camera footage. Like Wright, both suspects are students at the North American Trade School in Security Square.
