2 young bicyclists struck in separate incidents in Balto. Co.

Two young bicyclists were struck by vehicles in two separate incidents early Monday evening in Baltimore County, according to police.

In one case, a vehicle struck a 9-year-old boy in the 7600 block of Cedar Road in Dundalk, a few blocks from the North Point Plaza Shopping Center. The owner of the vehicle called police at about 5:30 p.m. to report the incident. Police said that the boy was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital with an ankle injury.

Less than two hours later, police responded to a report of a juvenile bicyclist struck by a blue SUV in the 100 block of Back River Neck Road in Essex, just a few blocks from Mars Estates Elementary School. The vehicle in question remained at the scene, and the bicyclist was taken to Franklin Square Hospital Center.
