Fatal Route 50 crash in Salisbury causes brief traffic delays

One person died and another was injured in a two-car crash Friday afternoon that closed eastbound lanes of Route 50 in Salisbury, a police spokesman said.

The crash occurred about 3 p.m. on Route 50, near the Salisbury Bypass, and caused brief traffic delays, police said. The road has since been cleared. The accident remains under investigation.

Police have not released the names of the victims, pending family notification, but a spokesman said the they were believed to be Salisbury residents.
