Two Baltimore men injured in separate shootings

Two Baltimore men were injured late Monday in separate shootings that occurred just minutes apart, a police spokeswoman said this morning.

In the first incident, reported at 9 p.m., a 31-year-old man was shot in the right leg as he fled from a man who had approached him from behind and tried to rob him as he walked across an apartment complex on the 4300 block of Marble Hall Road. The victim managed to reach a house on the 1500 block of Lochwood Road, where a resident called the police.

The man was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital. His condition was not available.

The second incident, a few minutes later and three miles south, involved a 17-year-old man. He was found lying on a sidewalk on the 1300 block of Caroline Street, in the Oliver neighborhood, with gunshot wounds to his torso, arms and legs, the spokeswoman said. Paramedics took him to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

No motives or suspects have been named in either case.
