Harford County police said Sunday that a woman found dead at her home in Street over the weekend had been killed.
Paramedics were called to the 1500 block of Clearview Drive about 9:20 p.m. Saturday for a possible cardiac arrest, but they contacted police as soon as they saw the woman, 52-year-old Deborah Elaine Burgess.
"What they found was not indicative of cardiac arrest," said Monica Worrell, a spokeswoman for the Harford County Sheriff's Office. "There was trauma to the body."
Burgess, first discovered by her roommate, was declared dead at the scene.
She lived in a normally quiet mobile-home community in northern Harford County, where violent crime is rare.
The sheriff's office asks people with information to send tips to harfordsheriff.org/wanted or call Harford Crime Solvers, 888-540-8477.
