Adelphi toddler found after Amber Alert issued

Police have recovered a 2-year-old boy who they believed was abducted from a Washington, D.C. Metro station by his mother's ex-boyfriend, after Prince George's County law enforcement officials issued an Amber Alert Saturday morning about his disappearance.

Aaron Gomez was returned to a family member's home in Hyattsville safe and unharmed around 2 p.m. Saturday, said to Cpl. Mike Rodriguez, of the Prince George's County Police Department.

Rodriguez said the boy was dropped off by the mother's ex-boyfriend, who remains at large.

Police identified the suspect as Jose Alex Turciso, 22, who was driving a 1999 Nissan Sentra with Maryland plates 5FGE91.

Turciso is 5-feet-8 and 195 pounds, and was wearing a cream-colored shirt and blue jeans, police said. He wears a ponytail hairstyle, and has two distinct tattoos: the words "Lidia" on the left side of his neck and "Ice" on his right forearm.

The boy's mother reported Gomez missing to Prince George's County police on Friday and said the boy was abducted from the Mount Vernon Metro Station in Washington, D.C.

Anyone with information should call 911.
