Hopkins student dies after jumping from dorm window

A 32-year-old Johns Hopkins University student jumped from a ninth-floor dormitory window and died Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred at 4:20 p.m. Baltimore City police were being escorted to the woman's dorm room for an emergency call when they received word that her body was outside the building in the 400 block of N. Broadway, according to police spokesman Donny Moses.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, and police did not disclose the woman's identity. Moses did not know what initially led someone to alert police to the woman's room.
