Baltimore men sentenced for armed carjacking

Two Baltimore men were each sentenced to nearly 10 years in federal prison Thursday for armed carjacking, the Maryland U.S. Attorney's Office announced. Keith Dorsey, 22, and Kenard Lawson, 19, both pleaded guilty. According to their plea agreements, Lawson and two accomplices robbed a liquor store in March on South Charles street, stealing a semi-automatic pistol and cash. Lawson later gave the gun to Dorsey, who used it in April to force a Toyota Camry driver to chauffer the two criminals to Greenmount Avenue. The driver was able to escape at a red light, alerting Baltimore police officers in a nearby marked car to the crime. The defendants ran, but were ultimately apprehended.
