A Florida man died after the van he was driving overturned Saturday night on Interstate 68 near Flintstone, Maryland State Police said.
Police said that around 8:49 p.m., Jeffery Charles Justice, 31, of Clermont, Fla., apparently lost control of his white Ford F-250 van on westbound I-68. The vehicle overturned in the roadway, police said. Justice was pronounced dead at Western Maryland Regional Hospital, according to state police in Cumberland.
Police said a second vehicle, a green Dodge Neon driven by Thomas R. Osbourne, 40, of Martinsburg, W.Va., was slowing to avoid the overturned van and was struck in the rear by a third vehicle, a Freightliner tractor-trailer operated by John Steven Olson, 43, of West Chester, Pa. Police said Osbourne and Olson refused medical treatment. The road was closed for about four hours, according to police.
