Pedestrian, 50, struck by car in Baltimore County

A 50-year-old man was in fair condition Friday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being struck by a car on Liberty Road in Baltimore County.

The pedestrian, Harry Keene, was crossing the thoroughfare near its intersection with Milford Mill Road shortly after 4:30 p.m. Thursday when he "walked into the path" of a Ford sedan in a turn lane, according to Lt. Robert McCullough, a spokesman for the county police.

Keene, who lives on the 7900 block of Dunhill Village Circle, near the intersection where the accident occurred, was not using a crosswalk, McCullough said.

"We're asking people to cross in the walk and to be careful," the spokesman said. "We're really trying to get that message out there."
