A woman with a baby was struck by a vehicle and killed Sunday as she tried to walk across Philadelphia Road near I-695 in the southeastern area of Baltimore County, said police Cpl. George Erhardt.

He said the woman was struck around 4 p.m. She and the baby were taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where the woman died. The baby was alive and receiving treatment Sunday evening, he said.

Identification of the woman and baby was not available Sunday night. The vehicle stopped, and the investigation was continuing, he said.
