A Harford County jury has convicted a 24-year-old Edgewood man of second-degree murder.
Kyvelle Jamaas Martin, reputed to be a member of a street gang known as The Bloods, was convicted Thursday in the death of Kevin Harold Rowlette, 20, of Edgewood, on July 12, 2006. Investigators said Martin shot Rowlette in the face with a handgun in the front yard of the victim's Brookside Drive home. Martin then fled to Georgia, where he was eventually arrested and returned to Maryland.
Martin was also convicted of illegal possession of and transporting a firearm and use of a handgun in a crime of violence. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Aug. 23 in Bel Air.
