State and local officials will unveil Anne Arundel County's first solar energy project Saturday afternoon – 10 solar panels that are supplying energy to the historic Plummer House, the visitor center at the Parris N. Glendening Nature Preserve at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary near Lothian. The $21,000 project was funded through a grant to the county from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, which had obtained federal dollars. The panels are expected to deliver about 2,900 kilowatt-hours of electricity, and any excess electricity will be fed into the state power grid.
