Eight light rail passengers were taken to a hospital Thursday after a train collided with a Ford Taurus in Mount Vernon, a Maryland Transit Administration spokeswoman said.
The passengers were taken to Maryland General Hospital, where their injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to the spokeswoman, Jawauna Greene.
The crash, involving the train and one car, occurred about 2 p.m. in the 600 block of N. Howard St. Greene did not have information on the driver of the car or a cause for the crash, which is under investigation by MTA and Baltimore police. She said light rail service resumed in that area less than an hour after the crash.
