Because of an editing error, an article in Friday's editions imprecisely characterized how the Baltimore ethics board handled allegations involving former Mayor Sheila Dixon. The board had said it would not pursue an inquiry into votes cast by Dixon affecting a company that employed her sister; the board did not investigate - and was not asked to look into - the reporting of gifts that Dixon received from a developer.

A headline and article in Friday's editions mischaracterized the result of an altercation that involved Baltimore County Councilman Vincent J. Gardina while he was working as a substitute teacher. Police and other agencies are investigating a fight between two students in which Gardina intervened, but a student did not file a formal complaint.

The Sun regrets the errors.
