Arundel police arrest 3, seize suspected drugs in raid

Anne Arundel County detectives charged three people and seized $27,500 worth of what they believe to be marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms this week from a home in Arnold, police said. The raid, which stemmed from the investigation of an anonymous complaint, took place about midnight Wednesday at a home in the 1100 block of Gator Court, police said. Charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were David A. Bennett, 25; Catherine D. Kirby, 21; and Dominick N. Purdham, 24, police said. Bennett and Kirby also were charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of psilocybin mushrooms, police said. In addition to 913 grams of suspected marijuana and 9.3 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, detectives seized $8,616 in cash from the home, police said.
