Man fatally shot, is year's 6th fatality

Baltimore Sun

A man fatally shot early Saturday on a busy street in West Baltimore has been identified as Darnell Taylor, 48, whose address had not been confirmed, police said. No arrest had been made.

Western District uniform officers responding to a report of a shooting in the 2300 block of W. North Ave. between North Bentalou Street and Wheeler Avenue about 5:30 a.m. found Taylor lying in the street and bleeding from at least one gunshot wound. He was taken by ambulance to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Metro Crime Stoppers, at 410-276-8888, is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and an indictment in the slaying, the city's sixth this year.
