A Glen Burnie woman was fatally struck by a van Tuesday night while trying to cross a road in Dundalk, according to Baltimore County police. Audrey Cavanaugh, 73, of the 1700 block of Pleasantville Drive was crossing Wise Avenue near Midway Avenue about 8:52 p.m. when she stepped into the path of a 1995 Chevrolet van, said Cpl. Mike Hill, a police spokesman. Cavanaugh was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the van, Michael Henderson, 58, of the 400 block of Trappe Road in Dundalk, stopped after the collision and remained at the scene, Hill said. Police believe pedestrian error caused the accident, according to Hill.
