Woman killed, 4 injured in multi-car accident

Baltimore Sun

A Chestertown woman was killed and four people were injured Monday in a crash that involved seven vehicles in Severna Park, Anne Arundel County police said. Police identified the victim of the accident, which occurred about noon on the northbound Ritchie Highway south of Cypress Creek Road, as Linda Lee Henschen, 64. Police said she was standing at the back of her Honda Odyssey, which had been involved in a collision. A State Highway Administration emergency technician who had been helping Henschen also was injured. Police said a Jeep, driven by Corey William Zientarsky, 18, of Glen Burnie, was northbound and did not stop behind other vehicles at the Cypress Road traffic light. It collided with the rear of a Volkswagen stopped in the northbound right lane. That set off crashes among four other vehicles at the light, police said. The Jeep then veered to the right and onto the shoulder, hitting Henschen's vehicle and then the pedestrians, according to police. The accident remains under investigation.
