Heat wave to continue through this week

A late summer heat wave will continue through this week, according to the National Weather Service, with high temperatures not expected to drop from around 90 degrees until Sunday.

Wednesday was expected to be mostly sunny with a light breeze. The low will be around 72. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are expected to continue to be hot, with a slight chance of showers Friday and about a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday.

On Sunday, the high is expected to reach about 84 degrees, with another chance of showers. Monday and Tuesday are expected to have highs in the low 80s.
